Those fine cobweb swirls you see under direct sun or a petrol-station light aren't dirt — they're thousands of microscopic scratches in your clear coat, mostly from washing. They scatter light, which is why a swirled car looks flat and dull even when it's perfectly clean.
Paint correction removes them properly. Using a machine polisher and progressively finer abrasives, we level a microscopic amount of clear coat until the surface is flat again and light reflects cleanly. It's the single biggest visual transformation available on a car — and it's permanent, unlike a glaze or filler product that just hides defects for a few washes.

Our process
- Assessment — We inspect the paint under dedicated lighting and take thickness readings to understand what we're working with and what's safe to remove.
- Wash & decontaminate — A full wash, iron removal and clay treatment so no bonded contamination gets dragged across the paint during polishing.
- Test spot — We correct a small section first to find the least aggressive combination of pad and compound that gets the result — then repeat it across the car.
- Correct & refine — Single or multi-stage depending on condition: a cutting stage to remove defects, then finer stages to refine the finish to full clarity.

Pricing
Correction is quoted after we've seen the paint, because condition varies enormously between a two-year-old garage-kept car and a ten-year-old daily driver. Single-stage costs less than multi-stage; we'll tell you which yours actually needs rather than upselling.
Frequently asked questions
- What's the difference between single-stage and multi-stage correction?
- Single-stage is one polishing step that removes lighter defects and boosts gloss — good for newer or well-kept paint. Multi-stage adds a dedicated cutting step first for heavier swirls and scratches, then refines it back to full clarity. We recommend based on what your paint actually shows.
- Will it remove deep scratches?
- If your fingernail catches in it, the scratch is likely through the clear coat and polishing won't fully remove it — we can improve its appearance but not erase it. Anything shallower than that is usually correctable.
- Is paint correction safe? Doesn't it remove clear coat?
- It removes a microscopic amount of clear coat, which is exactly how the defects are levelled. That's why we take thickness readings first and start with the least aggressive approach that works. Done properly it's safe and can be repeated over a car's life.
- How long do the results last?
- The correction itself is permanent — those defects are gone. How long the finish stays that way depends on how the car is washed afterwards, which is why most clients pair correction with a ceramic coating to protect the result.
- Can you correct a car before I sell it?
- It's one of the highest-return things you can do before listing. A corrected, glossy finish materially changes how a buyer perceives the car's condition and how it photographs.
